2021 Toy Shield restock Status Updates!

It’s been a while since we’ve posted any updates, unfortunately it’s because it’s been a while since we’ve received any updates.

About a year ago we placed our order with our manufacturer, unfortunately due to COVID they had stopped production on everything for everyone for about a year and had to play catchup with the backlog of all of their customers. So then they get to ours, great news! When they finished the order they were unable to ship due to the lack of shipping containers.

Since we blow through TMNT1 quicker than the other sizes, we decided since we’re waiting on a half shipping container we might as well fill a full shipping container and added another 20,000 cases to the order so we don’t sell out as fast. There are a lot of popular sizes on this upcoming shipment in addition to 2 new sizes that we’re excited to announce soon. The hope was, by the time the larger order was completed then maybe more shipping containers would be available and we could get them here shortly after.

Well… this is the latest! If you’ve been following the news, you may have seen the big backup of ships coasting off the port of LA. Unfortunately, this is the port we ship to, and it’s a huge part of the problem with not just the container shortage (around 500,000 containers stuck waiting to be unloaded) but also big slowdowns once the containers do reach the port. It will take removing the backlog of ships at the port so the containers can return empty so we can fill one to bring back with all of our lovely Toy Shield cases. While originally the plan was to have these in by July 2021, then it was pushed to August… September….. well, you get the idea. It’s looking like a few months before we know anything further, because we’re still waiting on this congestion to pass.
